About Tami Goodman
Tami Goodman has been training animals for over 20 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in special education and a minor in behavioral studies. While teaching in Maryland, she attended an educational presentation with exotic animals. At that moment, Tami realized her calling. She loved being an educator and doing so while working with animals would become her life’s passion. She was soon accepted into The Exotic Animal Training and Management Program, the only one of its kind in the United States.
In the years that followed, Tami has had the opportunity to train various animal species. She has trained birds, reptiles, monkeys, dolphins, wolves, etc. She has been in front of audiences of 1500 people to 3 people and loves it all. Respectful of all living creatures, Tami uses the positive reinforcement method in all her training. This humane, reward-based training method builds a relationship of trust and respect between animals and their people. It makes training fun for the animal and the owner and creates a strong relationship between the two. She finds this method is often already being used between parents and children, teachers and students, and loves teaching it to owners and their non-human family members in a language they will understand. Tami always looks forward to meeting new, two and four-legged clients and building fun, positive, successful relationships.

Tami was such a great dog trainer! Our puppy would not stop having accidents, jumping up on us & barking. I finally reached out to Karma and they set me up with Tami would taught me & my puppy how to fix his behavior! No more accidents in the house now and everything else is better too! I was SOOO thankful for Tami!! Highly recommend!

Tami is an incredibly skilled, affectionate, and patient dog trainer and we could not be happier with her services. For months now she has helped us improve our connection and communication with our 1-year-old Australian Shepherd Sampa. We had struggled with excessive barking, leash pulling, and jumping at people, and through positive reinforcement, love, and technique, Tami has helped us make amazing progress toward solving those issues. Tami is great at giving us guidance, feedback, and direction and we appreciate her skills in helping us improve how we deal with Sampa - who also loves having her around and looks forward to our training sessions. Tami is a wonderful dog trainer. She is patient, and knowledgeable, and truly cares about helping people deepen their bond with their animals. I recently adopted a German Shepherd/Pitbull mix named Riley and was worried about being able to control such a large, powerful dog. I’d started a training program using slip collars and corrections when I met Tami who urged me to try all positive reinforcement instead. I took her advice and am so glad for it. After working with Tami I now have a happy, well-trained dog that I completely trust. I can’t recommend her more highly!
